Your daughter lives in the Best Place!
|
Welcome to the BP family! We are grateful to all of the parents and parental figures who entrust your daughters to the care of the BP community. We form a tightly knit community of care and support in BP, and we strive to make each Babe feel welcome, known and loved.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Rector via phone or email. Please review the pages on this website that introduce our hall staff and their roles to help you to better understand how residents are cared for in BP. Other helpful information for parents and guardians can be found below. |

make your babe's day!
Do you want to help make your daughter's day/week/semester?! Is she stressed, homesick, or just in need of a pick-me-up, but you find yourself with not enough time to send her a care package? Look no further! Notre Dame has services to send care packages, flowers, birthday cakes, and so much more right to your daughter's door with a quick turn around. Check it out below!
Breen-phillips parent's weekend
Each Spring semester, the Breen-Phillips Hall Council hosts a weekend where parents and loved ones are invited to campus to spend time with their Babe. We alternate each year between Mom's Weekend and Dad's Weekend, with Mom's Weekend being on odd years (2023,2025,etc.) and Dad's Weekend on the even years (2024,2026,etc.). Throughout the weekend, there are fun activities for all Babes and their parents like brunches, tours, and games!
Domer dollars
You can load money onto your student's ND ID card at any time by following the instructions here. You'll just need to know their netID. Ask your student for theirs, because long last names are cut off and common last names are often given numbers.
- They'll be able to use Domer Dollars in many of the restaurants and cafes on campus, with some off-campus (including Chipotle). Most meal plans also come with flex points, which are similar to Domer Dollars, but they can only be used at food vendors on campus (this does include the Huddle, which acts as a convenience store, offering everything from drinks and snacks to school supplies and soap)
booking flights |
It is never too early to start speaking with your student about booking flights from/to Notre Dame. Please note that students must be checked out of their rooms within 24 hours of their last final or last paper/project deadline at the end of the semester. Please help them plan their flight schedules and departures accordingly.
first-year welcome weekend |
What about University orientation? Notre Dame has an orientation for First Year students and their parents the weekend before classes start. It is called St. André Weekend. See the university Welcome Weekend website for more information or the St. André Weekend tab under the First-Year drop down.
Junior Parents weekend (JPW) |
This is a weekend for juniors to bring their parents/loved ones/guardians/mentors to Notre Dame for a weekend of family, food, and fun. There is normally a BP specific event during the weekend for all of our junior Babes. Please see the JPW WEBSITE for more information.
EmergenciesYour student will have filled out a Medical Emergency Form every year, which gives us all of her basic medical and contact information. Hall Staff can access these when necessary and contact the appropriate person if something happens. We take your student's safety and security very seriously! Additionally, our Rector Angie asks that you notify her if something serious happens (i.e., death in a family) so that she can make sure your daughter is doing okay.
Also, the University requires all enrolled students to complete "Roll Call" at the beginning of the semester in which they are asked to list emergency contacts for the University to have in their system, instead of just the BP system. Your contact information will be used when needed for emergencies, whether individualized to your student or university-wide. notre dame police department (NDPD) |
The University has its own police force that patrol the campus and ensure safety for all students. You can contact NDPD at any time at (574) 631-5555. See THEIR WEBSITE for more information.
Notre dame fire department (ndfd)
The University has its own Fire Department, and run regular drills in every hall. BP always does well at getting our Babes out in a safe and timely manner! See NDFD's WEBSITE for more information.
O'snap
If students ever feel unsafe walking between campus buildings at night, the University has O'SNAP, the Student Night-Time Auxiliary Patrol, which is a free transportation service for students during the evening hours. Students can request a ride by simply calling the NDSP number or through the ND Mobile app.
Privacy and Policy
Notre Dame abides by federal laws and policies designed to protect the rights of students regarding the privacy of information and grades. Sometimes we are not able to share with parents or families particular information that is the student's right to share. Thank you for understanding our commitment to your student
