what is hall staff?
Each residence hall at the University of Notre Dame is led by a special group known as the Hall Staff. The Hall Staff is led by the Rector, who facilitates the spiritual, communal and academic life of the hall. Here in Breen-Phillips, our Rector is assisted by two graduate students known as Assistant Rectors. The three of them are considered Head Staff. Each section of the hall is led by a Notre Dame senior who is a Resident Assistant (being an RA is a senior privilege and one of the most coveted and respected student leadership positions at Notre Dame). RAs support the students in their section and make each one a unique community within BP. The Rector, ARs, and RAs compose the Hall Staff and work day and night to provide a positive and healthy living environment for all residents.

Sarah was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, but has been an Irish fan since birth. She attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Sociology. While at Notre Dame, she was an active member of the Irish Dance team, worked as a tour guide for the Office of Admissions and at the Information Desk at LaFortune Student Center. She was a proud resident of Lyons Hall all four years. After graduation, she taught at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School in Tucson, Arizona, and received her Master of Education through the Alliance for Catholic Education Teaching Fellows. Continuing at Saints Peter and Paul after graduating from ACE, she taught for a total of seven years across multiple grades, but loved her time with middle schoolers the most. At SSPP she coached volleyball and track, served as assistant athletic director, and was a Eucharistic Minister for school masses. As a teacher, she found the advocacy for and support of her students in all aspects of their growth to be the most fulfilling part of her role. This love of walking with young people through a transformational time in their lives led her back to her “home” at Notre Dame. In her free time, Sarah enjoys reading, working out, Harry Styles, and supporting all things Fighting Irish. “I am so thrilled to come back to Notre Dame and play a pivotal role in the growth of so many young women that will be under my care. The residence life experience was incredibly formative in my time at Our Lady’s University and I take joy in being able to be a part of that journey for the current and future Babes of Breen-Phillips." |

Hi everyone! My name is Elisabeth Lasecki, and I'm a third-year law student from De Pere, Wisconsin. I'm thrilled to be one of your Assistant Rectors this year and to call BP home! I'm a proud Double Domer after graduating from the Program of Liberal Studies and completing a dance minor at Saint Mary's in 2021. You can find me attempting to discover the best matcha latte in South Bend, enjoying a Saturday morning at the South Bend Farmer's Market, or taking a stroll around the lakes. Notre Dame has been my home for six years now, so I'm full of South Bend recommendations—always feel free to ask! I also love to read, bake, travel, and cheer on the Green Bay Packers and the Irish! More than anything, I am looking forward to getting to know all of you in the Best Place on campus! My door is always open to you.

Hi babes!
I’m super excited to meet and welcome each of you to your new home (hopefully your preferred home for the rest of your stay at Notre Dame). My name is Kany, I’m a 2nd year MBA candidate and I’m from Nigeria. Fun fact about Nigerians, we love to dress up, dance, eat and have fun! Nigeria will always be home for me, but my new home right now is America and I’m excited to see what that holds for me. When I’m not engaged in schoolwork or other school related activities, I love binge watching series, styling my friends (I’m your go to girl for styling tips for prom, balls, and anything really), reading a good book and trying out new activities! I absolutely love staying fit and doing girlie stuff. I cannot wait to meet every one of you, plan activities, have fun and create unforgettable memories so everyone feels at home regardless of where they come from. Welcome to BP hall babes! |

EMILY GILLEN2 EAST (AKA 2 SOUTH) |
Contact: [email protected] Major: Neuroscience and Behavior Hometown: Simi Valley, CA Biography: Hi BP Babes! My name is Emily and I'm going to be the RA for 2 East. I have quite a unique Notre Dame experience - I went to UCLA my freshman year and then transferred to ND as a sophomore (shoutout to all my transfers!). That first fall I lived in Fisher Grad but I was lucky enough to be able to transfer to BP in the spring. I'm studying Neuroscience and Behavior with plans to go into the healthcare industry, although I'm still figuring out in what capacity. Some staple facts about me: my favorite color is blue, I love to read (and am trying to make more time for it during the school year), I'm a huge beach lover, I'm always looking for new song recommendations, I love going to the gym/ swimming, and I've watched the Vampire Diaries at least 3 times. I also love meeting new people so I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone and learning about each of your unique stories and personalities. Living in BP has given me the ND experience I always imagined and I am SO excited to give back to all of you ladies and keep the BP community strong. |

Contact: [email protected] Major: Economics and English Hometown: Chester, NJ Biography: Hi Babes! My name is Maria and I am soooo excited to be your 3West RA this year! I am from Chester, New Jersey but originally born and bred in Sao Paulo, Brazil and am decidedly majoring in Economics and English after many major swaps in the last three years. My passions include laying out in the sun, forcing my friends to listen to my song recommendations, visiting my sister who works at our hometown ice cream parlor for free ice cream (Vanilla with hot fudge 4 ever; boring but dependable), advocating against the bullying of small fluffy white dogs, and deleting and redownloading Instagram in the constant battle to not be chronically online. I am jumping up and down at the thought of meeting you and coming back to the Best Place with the Best People <3 |

Contact: [email protected] Major: Theology and Program of Liberal Studies Hometown: McKinney, TX Biography: Hi Babes! I’m so excited to return to campus after studying abroad in Rome this past semester! I love traveling and adventures, but Notre Dame is truly a beloved home to me. I can’t wait to get to know you all and have an amazing year together in ZP. You will find me up on the fourth (and best;) floor, most likely reading a giant tome for my PLS seminar, at the grotto enjoying the peace, or running around our beautiful lakes. I study PLS (ND’s Great Books program), and Theology. My love languages are quality time and hugs, so please always stop by for one or the other or both! Who knows, perhaps a baked good awaits if you make the hike…but you can always count on tea. Un grande abbraccio e bacio, as the Italians say, and see you soon! |
